Test for Hypnotic Somnambulism

Somnambulism and FREE Hypnosis Downloads.

Each author seems to have a different description for various depths of hypnosis.

The problem with most of these, so called depths of hypnosis and smoking cessation, is the tests to confirm them are usually rather subjective. Nevertheless, with this test you can confirm, without doubt, if you have hypnotic somnambulism, or just a light level of hypnosis. Somnambulism is a deep, desirable and very usable depth of hypnosis, furthermore, it is very easy to test for and provides a clear and unequivocal result.

The Method. Give your subject a suggestion for amnesia, such as, "In a moment I will count to 5. With each number I count you will find that the first 3 letters of the alphabet will be harder for you to think about, and by the time I reach the number 5 they just won't be in your thoughts anymore. If you search for them the harder you try the further they will disappear from your thoughts".

You then test for somnambulism by asking your client to recite the alphabet, if they start with the letter 'D' you have success. It really is as simple as that!

If you are carrying out a single 'Stop Smoking' session with a client you must have somnambulism to stand any chance of success. Unfortunately hypnotic smoking cessation and hypnotic slimming are usually referred to as simple tasks, when actually they usually have deep emotional driving forces causing the problem. That doesn't mean that these type of issues can't be overcome with hypnosis, or self-hypnosis recordings, but it does mean that some effective type of recording is indicated.

Somnambulism is considered to be a very deep level of hypnosis. However, lighter levels of hypnosis are of little practical use, except as a way of working with your client to reach somnambulism. With the appropriate induction, and a client who is absent of fear, the maximum time needed to obtain somnambulism is 3 minutes. If you are giving a public a demonstration you can easily cut this down to 30 to 60 seconds, by editing out the time it takes your subject to get physical relaxation.

Any hypnotic induction that asks the subject to imagine a relaxing place, or to picture themselves floating on clouds, or anything of this nature is extremely unlikely to achieve somnambulism, except by accident - as 1 in 5 people are instant somnambulists and therefore require almost no help to obtain hypnotic somnambulism.
